The real NREMT EMT exam
- It's computer adaptive: at least 70 and at most 120 questions, with up to 2 hours. It stops once it's 95% sure you're above or below the passing standard.
- 10 of the questions are unscored pilot items, and you can't tell which ones.
- Since spring 2025 the questions are grouped in five areas: Scene Size-up and Safety 15-19%, Primary Assessment 39-43%, Secondary Assessment 5-9%, Patient Treatment and Transport 20-24%, Operations 10-14%.
- Besides multiple choice it uses multiple response, options table, build list and drag-and-drop items. Our practice is multiple choice.
- The passing standard is set by a panel of EMS experts; NREMT doesn't publish it as a percentage.

Is this the NREMT exam?

Is the mock exam adaptive like the real one?
No. Our mock is a fixed 120-question, 2-hour test weighted like NREMT's 2025 content areas. The real exam adapts to you and may stop at 70 questions.
Does it have the new item types?
Our practice is multiple choice. The real exam also has multiple response, options table, build list and drag-and-drop items.
How long do I have access?
